  • 340g Green Giant Sweet Corn
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 400g/14oz minced beef
  • 1-2 cloves garlic
  • 400g can chopped tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato puree
  • 300ml/½ pt beef stock
  • 2 medium carrots
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 300g/10oz spaghetti
  • Large non-stick deep frying pan
  • Large saucepan
  • Sieve/colander

This version of the family favourite includes sweet corn – to help all the family get some of their 5 a Day!


  1. Kick this recipe off by chopping up the onion and frying it for about 5 minutes until it’s nice and soft. Then crank up the heat and add the garlic and minced beef and cook until the beef is browned. It’s good to crush the garlic before you put it in – this could be a good job to keep your children occupied while you cook - they could peel the garlic and crush it with the back of a spoon.
  2. Next stir in the tomatoes, tomato puree and stock and bring it all to a simmer. Then peel and grate the carrots and add them to the pan with the oregano, Worcestershire Sauce and drained sweet corn, cover the pan and simmer 30 minutes. Add a little salt and pepper if you think it needs it.
  3. Then all there is to do is to cook the spaghetti, drain and serve with your super tasty bolognaise sauce. Easy!
